In Massachusetts, the Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) has never expressly recognized the American Pipe tolling doctrine. Still, the SJC would likely adopt the tolling doctrine, as lower courts in the commonwealth have already recognized it. The circumstances under which American Pipe may apply, however, are less clear.
