She represents organizations purchasing technology or outsourced business/technology services in projects ranging from straightforward software license and SaaS/cloud services agreements to complex, multinational outsourcing transactions. She also routinely advises clients on privacy and data security issues that arise in transactions involving sensitive data. Heidi’s clients hail from many different industries, including healthcare, financial services, asset management, insurance, universities and higher education, and state government.

Heidi’s concentration in technology and outsourcing began during the rise of the Internet and the 1990’s dot-com boom and has expanded and evolved in tandem with the tremendous growth in the technology industry. Now armed with over 20 years of experience, Heidi regularly assists clients in navigating areas of exposure in technology and outsourcing transactions and structuring client transactions to include risk mitigation strategies. When needed, she has advised clients in resolving disputes with technology vendors, including resurrecting failed projects and getting delayed technology projects back on track.

In addition to working with clients on complex technology and outsourcing transactions, she helps clients with high-volume technology needs develop contracting and governance strategies to procure technology in an efficient manner. This has involved training internal client resources and implementing models that include a combination of client and external resources, tailored to the client’s unique business needs.

Located in Charlotte, Heidi enjoys exploring the mountains, barrier-islands, and lakes in North Carolina, as well as skiing and pickleball. Heidi has two children in college and can frequently be found cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels.
